I love talking about the power of having professional photos for business (if you can’t already tell 🙂 ). It’s so important to keep your website and all social platforms up-to-date, to not only be accurate in the representation of the services you provide but to also be engaging and current.
When I shoot business branding photography, it’s way more than just a simple headshot. We can really work together to create a whole ton of content that is shot specifically for different reasons, whether that be as your website homepage, banners, Instagram posts or physical promotional material.
Alexandra Peterson contacted me regarding her photography coaching business. Alex was a high school teacher for 14 years and her photography business, Idalia Photography, started as a side hustle, working nights and weekends. She always dreamt of it being a full-time job and after five years, and many trials and errors she finally made it.
Today she works with photography full time and has a multiple six-figure business. She uses her experience of almost ten years as a hobbyist photographer to teach other photographers how to build their own businesses, both on hobbyist and pro levels.
Can you imagine how excited and honored I was when she asked me to take her branding photos?
Before we got going, I had Alexandra fill out my brand questionnaire telling me about her business and personal goals for the photo session and discussed what kind of professional photos for business she wanted. We were then able to go through some location recommendations for either shooting in my studio or on location (home, office, place of business, etc). I was then able to put together a detailed shoot plan based on the questionnaire, so that we were well prepared for the big day.
During the shoot, I was able to give Alexandra guidance and posing suggestions, so that she felt her best and so that she also felt at ease and could have fun. It was awesome to work with another photographer too, as we could both bring our ideas together. We chose neutral backdrop colors that matched her branding color scheme.
We were able to create a whole series of images that showcased who she is as a business with some creative headshots which could then be used cohesively across her website and social media platforms. So she would be instantly recognizable as the beautiful face of her business. Her social media feeds are now full of not only amazing content, but images that really show her audience who she is and what she offers.
The final delivery of the online photo gallery was delivered to Alex with suggestions of where and how to use her images, as well as including an image opportunity assessment that suggests where and how to use her images, including SEO tutorials and IG tips and tricks.
For Alex’s business, she really wanted some clear beautiful photographs that could promote her photography coaching business.
So now Alex has lots of images that she has not only been able to refresh her website with, she also has perfect images to liven up her email newsletters and promotions, as well as update her business cards and create new eye-catching blog content.
