The location of your brand photoshoot is important. You really want to choose locations that convey what you are about and show off your uniqueness. For example if your business is as a personal organizer and de-clutterer and your home doesn’t convey this, then it’s probably not the best option for your shoot. That’s another reason to work with someone like me, who shoots NJ lifestyle photography, to help you set up and organize a branded shoot that portrays your unique selling points.
So let’s get our location inspiration on! Here are some ideas for your next brand photoshoot:
1. Photography Studio
Working with a NJ lifestyle photographer, a photography studio could be the perfect location to shoot lots of branded content within a short space of time. I offer sessions in my small studio in Bridgewater. We can cover a lot of shots in my studio especially for headshots, on the laptop, on the phone and with your products. However, space is limited so we also have the option of renting a larger studio space in NJ.
2. At Your Home
Shooting at home can be perfect, if you have the space and natural light available. But before shooting at home, make sure the location is fitting with your brand or business. If you’re a family oriented business and you want to involve your kids or partner, this could be the right location to get them together.
3. In Nature
Does your work involve being outside or perhaps you want to convey being natural and down-to-earth? Then shooting outside in nature can be amazing. And it’s free! Lots of beautiful nature light and you can find a location that really resonates with you and your brand.
4. Café
Sharing a coffee with a friend – something we can all relate to. Or maybe you love milkshakes. Whatever you’re into, this can be really unique location to showcase your personality and that you’re relatable. That’s why working with someone like me who shoots NJ lifestyle photography can be really beneficial in creating these beautiful branded shots in a variety of locations.
5. Your Work Space
This can look so different for so many people and that’s what can make it so interesting. These days your audience really wants to see behind the scenes and know about the person behind the brand, so they can buy into the service that you are offering. So whether this is a cool co-working hub, or your tiny shed you built in the back garden, or simply your office. Make it unique to you and your brand. If your office has no natural light, maybe this is where you think about using an Airbnb that conveys your office style. Which leads me to…
6. Airbnb / Home Studio List rental
Airbnb can be really magical if you want to purvey a certain look for your brand, but make sure it is in line with your ethos and style. It’s also worth contacting Airbnb hosts as you might be able to get a discount if you only need the space for a short period, or even for free – if you’re able to provide them with some free advertising on your social media. Home Studio List is another great option where you rent homes by the hour!
7. Beach or Pool
I love that a beach or pool can be either cool and edgy or soft and feminine, depending on what time of day you shoot at. Maybe you love the beach for sunset and spend your spare time there; or your brand is about feeling sexy and fun. This location really can be so versatile. This pool was at a home rented through Home Studio List.
8. Hotel
Your business is all about the glamour? Then shooting at a hotel could be a dreamy location choice, paired with you getting to get your favorite heels and get your glow on! It can also be a good location if you need to portray a more corporate feel or want to involve your team. You would need to call ahead to find out about hire rates.
9. Wall Mural
Sometimes your local city has lots of cool and edgy backdrops that you could use for your brand shoot. You might even be lucky enough to find ones that match your brand colors. Try to organize your photoshoot in the weekday when there will be less people around.
10. Downtown Area
Many NJ towns have really cute downtown areas where we can shoot. Cool red brick background, you walking down the sidewalk, that kind of thing!
